A delicious and flavorful burrata sandwich with pesto and tomato, perfect for a quick meal or a delightful snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 fresh ciabatta or crusty baguette, sliced in half
  • 34 slices prosciutto, mortadella, or salami (or a mix)
  • 1 ball of burrata (or fresh mozzarella if you prefer)
  • 2 tablespoons basil pesto (homemade or store-bought)
  • 2 tablespoons roasted red pepper spread or sun-dried tomato pesto
  • A drizzle of olive oil
  • Optional: balsamic glaze, fresh basil leaves, or arugula for garnish

Instructions

  1. Lightly toast the cut sides of the bread for a crisp, golden texture.
  2. Brush each side with a little olive oil.
  3. Spread basil pesto on the bottom half of the bread.
  4. Spread roasted red pepper spread (or tomato pesto) on the top half.
  5. Add your slices of prosciutto, salami, or mortadella evenly over the pesto layer.
  6. Gently tear the burrata open and place the creamy inside over the meat layer.
  7. Season lightly with salt and pepper if desired.
  8. Top with the other half of the bread.
  9. Press gently, slice in half, and enjoy immediately while the bread is warm and the cheese is melty and rich.

Notes

  • Upgrade it: Add grilled zucchini, eggplant, or roasted cherry tomatoes for a veggie twist.
  • Make it spicy: Add a layer of Calabrian chili spread or a drizzle of hot honey.
  • Bread options: Ciabatta, focaccia, or a rustic sourdough loaf all work beautifully.
