- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup (40g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 8 oz (225g) cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, lightly greasing it.
- In a medium bowl, mix melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla, whisk until combined.
- Stir in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until no streaks remain. Pour about 3/4 of the brownie batter into the prepared pan, reserving the rest for swirling.
- In another bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. Spread the cheesecake mixture evenly over the brownie layer.
- Drop small spoonfuls of the remaining brownie batter on top and use a knife or skewer to swirl the brownie and cheesecake layers together for a marbled effect.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the center is set but still slightly jiggly. Let cool completely in the pan, then chill for at least 2 hours before slicing for clean cuts.
- Slice into squares and serve at room temperature or chilled. Optional: drizzle with chocolate ganache or dust lightly with cocoa powder.
