Description
Deliciously soft and chewy cookies made from chocolate cake mix, perfect for a quick and easy treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box (15.25 oz) chocolate cake mix
- 2 large eggs
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil (or 1/2 cup melted butter for richer cookies)
- 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
- Optional: 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Optional: flaky sea salt
- Optional: 2 tbsp cocoa powder for extra chocolate flavor
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- In a mixing bowl, add the cake mix, eggs, and oil. Mix with a spatula or hand mixer until a thick, sticky dough forms. Fold in chocolate chips. If your dough feels too soft, chill for 10 minutes.
- Scoop 2 tablespoons of dough per cookie, roll lightly into a ball, and place on your baking sheet, leaving space between the cookies. Press a few extra chocolate chips on top.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes. The cookies should look soft in the center—they will firm up as they cool.
- Let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
Notes
- Soft & gooey at 10 minutes, thick & chewy at 11–12 minutes.
- Don’t overbake—cake-mix cookies dry out fast.
- Optional add-ins include white chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, crushed Oreos, chopped nuts, mini marshmallows, caramel bits, or espresso powder for mocha flavor.
