- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups apples, peeled and diced
- 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- Add oil, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Mix until the batter is well combined.
- Fold in diced apples and nuts (if using) until evenly distributed.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 15 minutes before slicing.
- Serve warm or at room temperature with whipped cream or ice cream if desired.
