  • 1 loaf French bread, Italian loaf, or rustic sourdough
  • 23 cups shredded cooked chicken (preferably rotisserie)
  • 1520 ounces Alfredo sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 23 cloves freshly minced garlic
  • Chopped parsley or chives (for garnish)
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning (optional)
  • 1 handful fresh spinach (optional)
  • 1 cup sautéed mushrooms (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chopped sun-dried tomatoes (well-drained, optional)
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  2. Carefully slice the loaf of bread lengthwise, almost all the way through, creating a ‘boat’ that remains connected at the bottom crust. Hollow out some of the soft interior bread from each half.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine shredded cooked chicken, Alfredo sauce, about half of the shredded mozzarella, a generous sprinkle of grated Parmesan, minced garlic, and any optional add-ins. Stir until mixed and chicken is coated.
  4. Spoon the creamy chicken Alfredo mixture into the prepared bread loaf, ensuring the filling is evenly distributed.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining shredded mozzarella and Parmesan generously over the top of the chicken mixture.
  6. Transfer the filled bread loaf to the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden brown.
  7. Let the bake rest for 5-10 minutes, garnish with fresh parsley or chives, then slice into hearty portions and serve immediately.
