Description
This Snickers Salad is a delicious and creamy dessert salad that combines tart Granny Smith apples, sweet Snickers bars, and fluffy whipped topping.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4–5 medium Granny Smith apples, cored and chopped into bite-sized pieces
- 8–10 regular-sized Snickers bars, chopped into roughly half-inch pieces (approximately 2 cups)
- 1 large tub (12–16 oz) of thawed frozen whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
- 1 box (3 oz) of instant vanilla or cheesecake flavored pudding mix
- 1/2 cup of cold milk (dairy or non-dairy alternative)
- 1/2 cup of good quality caramel sauce, plus extra for serving
- Optional: handful of chopped roasted peanuts
- Optional: 1 cup of mini marshmallows
- Optional: 1/2 cup of crushed pretzel pieces
- Optional: 4 oz (half a block) of softened cream cheese
Instructions
- Prepare the Apples: Core and chop your apples into bite-sized pieces. Toss them gently in a bowl with a tablespoon or two of lemon juice to prevent browning. Drain any excess lemon juice before adding them to the salad.
- Chop the Snickers: Unwrap and chop all your Snickers bars into approximately 1/2-inch pieces. Set them aside.
- Make the Creamy Dressing: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the instant pudding mix and the cold milk until the mixture starts to thicken, about 1-2 minutes.
- Fold in Whipped Topping: Gently fold the thawed whipped topping into the pudding mixture until smooth and fluffy.
- Combine Ingredients: Add the chopped apples and chopped Snickers bars to the creamy dressing and gently fold everything together. If using optional mix-ins, fold them in at this time.
- Chill Time: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the salad for at least 1-2 hours.
- Serve with Caramel Drizzle: Transfer the chilled salad to a serving bowl and drizzle generously with caramel sauce just before serving.
Notes
- For best results, chill the salad for a few hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
- If you want a little crunch, consider adding chopped roasted peanuts or crushed pretzel pieces as optional mix-ins.
