- 8 oz spaghetti
- 1 can (5 oz) high-quality canned tuna in olive oil
- 2 ripe fresh tomatoes, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1 tsp red chili flakes (adjust to taste)
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Cook the spaghetti in salted boiling water until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil and sauté sliced garlic until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
- Add diced tomatoes and red chili flakes; cook until tomatoes soften and release juices, approximately 5-7 minutes.
- Gently fold in drained tuna; cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until heated through.
- Combine the cooked spaghetti with the sauce in the skillet; toss well to coat.
- Remove from heat and sprinkle with fresh basil and Parmesan cheese before serving.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of red chili flakes according to your spice preference.
- For a lighter dish, use less olive oil.
