Description

A delicious and comforting whipped hot chocolate perfect for cozy evenings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 2 tablespoons Granulated Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 2 tablespoons Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 2 tablespoons Granulated Sugar (or to taste)
  • Chocolate Shavings or Marshmallows (for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, pour in 1 cup of heavy cream. Using a hand mixer or a stand mixer, whip the cream on medium speed until soft peaks form. This typically takes about 3-5 minutes. Be careful not to over-whip; you want it fluffy, not grainy!
  2. Gradually add 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the whipped cream while continuing to mix until well combined. Set aside.
  3. In a small saucepan, combine 2 cups of milk and 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder over medium heat. Whisk continuously until the cocoa is fully dissolved and the milk is heated, but not boiling.
  4. Add 2 tablespoons of sugar (or to taste) into the hot chocolate mixture. Stir until completely dissolved. If you want to elevate the chocolate flavor even more, you can add a pinch of salt.
  5. Once your hot chocolate is ready, pour it into your favorite mugs. Top generously with the whipped cream you prepared earlier.
  6. Finish off with chocolate shavings or a sprinkle of cocoa powder. You can also add marshmallows on top for that classic touch.
  7. Grab a cozy blanket, a good book, or your favorite movie, and enjoy your homemade Whipped Hot Chocolate!

Notes

  • This recipe makes a rich and creamy hot chocolate that’s even better with a sprinkle of cocoa powder or some marshmallows on top.
