Soft peach flowers, little green leaf pairs, and creamy pearl cords make this door curtain feel like a garden path hung in a doorway. It catches the light, moves when someone walks by, and still lets the breeze through.
The palette is warm and simple: orange-peach petals, cream flower centers and cords, olive-green leaves, and ivory pearl beads. The style is cottage-boho, light and airy instead of heavy.
This pattern uses US crochet terms. The finished curtain is 32 in (81.3 cm) wide from first strand to last strand and hangs 67.5 in (171.5 cm) from the rod to the bottom pearl.
You will make 43 flowers and 42 leaf pairs. Then you crochet 9 beaded cords (5 floral cords and 4 plain pearl cords), sew the motifs onto the floral cords, and slide every cord’s top loop onto a wooden rod.

Materials
Choose a smooth mercerized or combed cotton in DK weight. Cotton holds the petal shape, does not stretch much on long cords, and has a soft sheen next to the pearls. The yardage below assumes about 113 m per 50 g.
- Orange-peach (petals): 130 g, about 295 m
- Olive green (leaves): 125 g, about 285 m
- Cream (flower centers and all cords): 110 g, about 250 m
All quantities include a margin of about 15 to 20 percent, so you have spare yarn for a test piece and for sewing.
Tools
- 4.0 mm (G-6) crochet hook
- 380 cream pearl beads, 10 mm, with holes at least 2 mm wide (355 are used; the rest are spares)
- Big-eye beading needle or a loop of dental floss for threading pearls onto yarn
- Tapestry needle
- Locking stitch markers
- Wooden rod or dowel, 34 in (86.4 cm) long and up to 1 in (2.5 cm) thick, with brackets or a tension rod
- Tape measure, scissors, blocking mat, and pins
Abbreviations (US Terms)
- ch – chain
- sl st – slip stitch
- sc – single crochet
- hdc – half double crochet
- dc – double crochet
- sk – skip
- sp – space
- st(s) – stitch(es)
- MR – magic ring
Special stitch – bead chain (bch): Slide one pre-strung pearl up the yarn until it sits against the hook. Yarn over behind the pearl and pull through the loop on the hook. The pearl is now locked inside that chain. A bch counts as 1 chain.
Cord gauge note: Every cord is made as a chain, then worked back with a sl st into the back bump of each chain. This firms up the cord so it does not stretch under the weight of the motifs.
Gauge and Checkpoints
Gauge matters most for the cords, because 262 chains add up quickly. Make one test flower, one test leaf pair, and a 20-chain swatch of cord before you begin.
- Cord gauge: 4 ch = 1 in (2.5 cm), measured after the sl st return row. A 20-chain test cord should measure 5 in (12.7 cm).
- Flower checkpoint 1: after Round 2, the cream center measures 1.1 in (2.8 cm) across.
- Flower checkpoint 2: after Round 4, the flower measures 2.5 in (6.4 cm) from petal tip to petal tip.
- Leaf checkpoint: one leaf measures 1.75 in (4.4 cm) long and 0.9 in (2.3 cm) wide.
- Leaf pair checkpoint: the finished pair measures 2.5 in (6.4 cm) across the leaf tips and 2 in (5.1 cm) tall including the stem.
If your pieces are too big, go down to a 3.75 mm hook. If they are too small, go up to a 4.5 mm hook. If only the cord is off, change the hook for the cords only. The motifs can stay as they are.

Flower (Make 43)
Round 1 (cream): MR, ch 1, 10 sc in ring, sl st to first sc. (10 sts)
Round 2 (cream): Ch 1, 2 sc in each st around, sl st to first sc. Fasten off. (20 sts)
Check that the center measures 1.1 in (2.8 cm) and lies flat.
Round 3 (orange-peach): Join with sl st in any st. Ch 1, sc in same st, ch 3, sk 3 sts, *sc in next st, ch 3, sk 3 sts; repeat from * 3 more times, sl st to first sc. (5 sc, 5 ch-3 sps)
The math: each repeat uses 4 of the 20 Round 2 stitches (1 sc + 3 skipped), and 5 repeats x 4 = 20.
Round 4 (petals): In each ch-3 sp work (sc, hdc, 3 dc, hdc, sc). Sl st to first sc. Fasten off, leaving a 12 in (30.5 cm) tail for sewing. (5 petals, 35 sts)
The single crochet at each end of a petal sits low beside the Round 3 sc, which makes the clear notch between the rounded petals.
Leaf Pair (Make 42)
Each pair is two separate leaves joined at their bases by a short stem.
Leaf (make 2 per pair, 84 total): With green, ch 9.
- Side 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in next 3 ch, hdc in next ch, sc in next ch. (7 sts)
- Base: (Sc, ch 1, sc) in last ch.
- Side 2: Working in the free loops on the other side of the chain: sc in next ch, hdc in next ch, dc in next 3 ch, hdc in next ch, sc in next ch. (7 sts)
- Tip: (Sl st, ch 2, sl st) in the skipped first ch. Fasten off and weave in the end.
Leaf stitch count: 7 + 2 + 7 = 16 sts, plus the ch-1 base sp and the ch-2 tip point. The dc in the middle make the leaf widest at its center, and the ch-2 gives it a pointed tip.
Stem and join: Hold 2 leaves with their bases touching and their tips pointing up and out at about 90 degrees to each other, like a V. Join green with sl st in the ch-1 base sp of the left leaf. Ch 1, sl st in the ch-1 base sp of the right leaf. Ch 4, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and in next 2 ch. (3 sl st stem) Fasten off, leaving a 10 in (25.4 cm) tail for sewing.
The stem is 0.75 in (1.9 cm) long, and the V of leaves rises 1.25 in (3.2 cm) above it, for a total height of 2 in (5.1 cm).
Cords (Make 9)
Before you start, string the pearls onto cream yarn. Leave the yarn attached to the ball so you can push the pearls back along it as you work.
- Floral A cord: string 19 pearls
- Floral B cord: string 19 pearls
- Pearl cord: string 65 pearls
Every cord has the same three parts: a hanging loop, a 262-chain body, and a sl st return row.
Hanging loop (all cords): Ch 16, sl st in first ch to form a ring. Do not fasten off.
Floral A Cord (Make 3)
The flower comes first, then the leaf pair: 9 flowers and 8 leaf pairs.
- Lead: Ch 7, bch, ch 7, bch, ch 8. (24 ch)
- *Flower zone: Ch 10. Place a marker in the 5th ch.
- Gap: Ch 2, bch, ch 2. (5 ch)
- Leaf zone: Ch 8. Place a marker in the 4th ch.
- Gap: Ch 2, bch, ch 2. (5 ch)
- Repeat from * 7 more times (8 flower zones and 8 leaf zones so far), then work one more flower zone. (9 flower zones)
- Bottom drop: Ch 3, bch. (4 ch)
Count check: 24 + (9 x 10) + (8 x 8) + (16 x 5) + 4 = 24 + 90 + 64 + 80 + 4 = 262 ch. Pearls used: 2 + 16 + 1 = 19.
Floral B Cord (Make 2)
The leaf pair comes first: 9 leaf pairs and 8 flowers. This staggers the motifs between neighboring floral cords.
- Lead: Ch 8, bch, ch 8, bch, ch 8. (26 ch)
- *Leaf zone: Ch 8, marker in 4th ch.
- Gap: Ch 2, bch, ch 2. (5 ch)
- Flower zone: Ch 10, marker in 5th ch.
- Gap: Ch 2, bch, ch 2. (5 ch)
- Repeat from * 7 more times, then work one more leaf zone. (9 leaf zones, 8 flower zones)
- Bottom drop: Ch 3, bch. (4 ch)
Count check: 26 + (9 x 8) + (8 x 10) + (16 x 5) + 4 = 26 + 72 + 80 + 80 + 4 = 262 ch. Pearls used: 2 + 16 + 1 = 19.
The B lead is 2 chains longer to make up for the 2 chains lost by swapping one flower zone (10 ch) for a leaf zone (8 ch). That keeps every cord the same length.
Pearl Cord (Make 4)
- Ch 2, then *ch 3, bch; repeat from * 64 more times. (65 pearls)
Count check: 2 + (65 x 4) = 262 ch.
Return Row (All Cords)
Turn. Sk the last ch made (the bottom pearl ch). Sl st in the back bump of each ch along the cord, including the bead chains, all the way back to the ring. (261 sl st) Sl st into the ring.
Loop reinforcement: Work 20 sc into the ring and sl st to the first sc. Fasten off and weave in the end.
Checkpoint: Each cord body should measure 65.5 in (166.4 cm), and the doubled loop should hang 2 in (5.1 cm). Measure all 9 cords side by side. They should match within 0.5 in (1.3 cm).
Make All Pieces
Quantities by color:
- Orange-peach: 43 flower petal rounds (Rounds 3–4)
- Cream: 43 flower centers (Rounds 1–2) and 9 cords
- Green: 84 leaves joined into 42 leaf pairs
Per strand:
- Floral A (x3): 9 flowers + 8 leaf pairs = 27 flowers, 24 leaf pairs
- Floral B (x2): 8 flowers + 9 leaf pairs = 16 flowers, 18 leaf pairs
- Totals: 27 + 16 = 43 flowers; 24 + 18 = 42 leaf pairs
Layout grid (F = flower, L = leaf pair, : = pearl cord), read left to right across the top of the curtain:
A : B : A : B : A
F : L : F : L : F
L : F : L : F : L
F : L : F : L : F
... alternating down to row 17 ...
F : L : F : L : F
Each floral column has 17 motifs (9 + 8). Every row of the grid reads either F-L-F-L-F or L-F-L-F-L.
Joining
The motifs are sewn onto the floral cords. Each one is centered on the marker in its zone.
Flowers: Lay the flower right side up over the cord, with the marker sitting behind the center of the cream disc. Using the petal tail, sew through the back loops of Round 2 and around the cord at 4 points: top, bottom, left, and right of the center. Then make 2 extra tacks at the top and bottom of Round 3. Keep the cord straight and running behind the flower. The 10-ch zone is 2.5 in (6.4 cm), the same as the flower, so the petals just reach the gap pearls without covering them.
Leaf pairs: Lay the stem along the cord with the stem pointing down and the V opening upward. The joined leaf bases sit on the marker. Whipstitch the 3 stem stitches to the 3 cord chains below the marker, then tack the base join once. The 8-ch zone is 2 in (5.1 cm), the same height as the pair.
Tension: Sew snugly but do not pull the cord into a curve. Hold the cord against a tape measure while you sew. A 17-motif floral cord must still measure 65.5 in (166.4 cm) when you finish.
Size checkpoint: Hang each finished floral cord from a hook for 10 minutes and measure again. The motifs add weight, so up to 0.5 in (1.3 cm) of drop is fine.
Border
Strand curtains do not have a stitched border. In this design the top loops and the bottom pearl drops do that job, framing the top and bottom edges.
Border gauge: the same as the cord gauge, 4 ch = 1 in (2.5 cm).
Top edge: 9 hanging loops. Each is a 16-ch ring, 4 in (10.2 cm) around, reinforced with 20 sc. A 4 in ring fits a rod up to 1 in (2.5 cm) thick, because a 1 in rod is about 3.1 in (7.9 cm) around and the leftover room lets the loop slide.
Spacing along the rod: Space the 9 loops 4 in (10.2 cm) apart. That makes 8 spaces x 4 in = 32 in (81.3 cm) from the first strand to the last. Leave 1 in (2.5 cm) of rod free at each end for the brackets: 32 + 1 + 1 = 34 in (86.4 cm).
Bottom edge: 9 pearl drops, each 4 ch = 1 in (2.5 cm), already counted inside the 262-chain body.
Why the math works: Every cord body is exactly 262 ch, so at 4 ch per inch all 9 bodies are 65.5 in (166.4 cm). Add the 2 in (5.1 cm) loop and the curtain hangs 67.5 in (171.5 cm). Because the floral strands are 8 in (20.3 cm) apart, the flowers (2.5 in / 6.4 cm) and leaf pairs (2.5 in / 6.4 cm) never touch the motifs on the next floral strand. The pearl cord hangs alone in the 4 in (10.2 cm) space between them.
Final Blocking
- Lightly mist the flowers and leaf pairs with water. Do not soak the cords.
- Lay each floral strand flat on a long surface or mat.
- Pin each flower at its 5 petal tips to a 2.5 in (6.4 cm) circle, and open each petal into a rounded shape.
- Pin each leaf pair into its V, 2.5 in (6.4 cm) across the tips, and pin each leaf tip to a point.
- Lay a tape measure along each cord and gently straighten it to 65.5 in (166.4 cm).
- Let everything dry completely, about 12 hours.
- Hang the strands in the order A, Pearl, B, Pearl, A, Pearl, B, Pearl, A, and space the loops 4 in (10.2 cm) apart.
Final Quality-Control Checklist
- 43 flowers, each 2.5 in (6.4 cm) across with 5 even petals
- 42 leaf pairs, each 2.5 in (6.4 cm) wide and 2 in (5.1 cm) tall
- 9 cords, each 262 ch body with 261 sl st on the return row
- Pearl count: 19 on each floral cord and 65 on each pearl cord, 355 in all
- Floral A cords start with a flower; Floral B cords start with a leaf pair
- All cords 65.5 in (166.4 cm) plus a 2 in (5.1 cm) loop
- Loops spaced 4 in (10.2 cm) apart, curtain 32 in (81.3 cm) wide
- All ends woven in and every motif sewn at 4 or more points
Troubleshooting
Petals cup or ruffle: Round 3 chains are too long or too short. Use ch 2 if the petals ruffle and ch 4 if they cup.
Pearls won’t stay in place: You chained in front of the pearl instead of behind it. Yarn over behind the pearl so the chain closes around it.
Cords are different lengths: Your tension changed between sessions. Redo the return row of the long cord a little tighter, or the short cord a little looser.
Flowers flip forward: Add a tack at the top of Round 3 so the flower can’t tip off the cord.
Leaves curl: Steam them lightly and pin them flat while damp.
Loop slides off the rod: Add a decorative ring or a small rod cap at each end.
Care
Dust it with a soft brush or a cool hair dryer. If it needs washing, hand wash one strand at a time in cool water, press it in a towel, and dry it flat with the motifs pinned. Never machine wash pearl beads.

Final Notes
The measurement chain is simple. 4 ch = 1 in (2.5 cm) on the cords, the flower center is 1.1 in (2.8 cm), and the finished flower is 2.5 in (6.4 cm). A single leaf is 1.75 in (4.4 cm), and a leaf pair is 2.5 in (6.4 cm) x 2 in (5.1 cm). Each cord body is 262 ch, or 65.5 in (166.4 cm). Add a 2 in (5.1 cm) loop and the curtain hangs 67.5 in (171.5 cm). Nine strands spaced 4 in (10.2 cm) apart make it 32 in (81.3 cm) wide on a 34 in (86.4 cm) rod. If each checkpoint matches, the next one will too.
Happy crocheting!
