This three-tier hanging organizer holds one toilet roll per basket and hangs from a single wooden ring. Each basket has a solid royal blue base, a band of radiating openwork fans, and a coral picot rim. A raised coral hibiscus with a cream stamen and two olive green leaves sits on the front of each basket.
The colors are bright and tropical: royal blue for the structure, coral for the rims and flowers, olive green for the leaves, and cream for the stamens. Worsted-weight cotton keeps the baskets firm enough to hold their shape on the wall.
The pattern uses US crochet terms. The finished organizer measures about 24.5 in (62.2 cm) tall including the ring. Each basket is 5.25 in (13.3 cm) across and 4 in (10.2 cm) tall.
To build it, you crochet three identical baskets in joined rounds from the base up, then add the coral rim. Then you make the flowers, leaves, and straps separately. Short straps connect the baskets, and two longer straps fold around the ring.

- Olive green: 20 g / 38 m (leaves)
- Cream: 5 g / 10 m (stamens)
These quantities include a margin of roughly 15% for swatching and joining.
Tools:
- 4.0 mm (G-6) crochet hook
- 1 wooden ring, 2 in (5.1 cm) outer diameter
- Tapestry needle
- Stitch markers (at least 4)
- Scissors
- Tape measure
- Pins
- Spray bottle for blocking
Abbreviations (US Terms)
- MR – magic ring
- ch – chain
- sl st – slip stitch
- sc – single crochet
- hdc – half double crochet
- dc – double crochet
- tr – treble crochet
- inc – 2 sc in the same stitch
- BLO – back loop only
- sp(s) – space(s)
- st(s) – stitch(es)
Special stitches:
- V-st: (dc, ch 2, dc) in the same stitch.
- Picot: ch 3, sl st in the 3rd ch from hook.
Gauge and Checkpoints
Gauge: 16 sc and 18 sc rounds = 4 in (10.2 cm) with a 4.0 mm hook.
Make one complete basket before you start the others, and measure it at each checkpoint:
- After Rnd 6 (36 sts): base about 2.75 in (7.0 cm) across.
- After Rnd 11 (66 sts): base 5.25 in (13.3 cm) across, lying flat.
- After Rnd 16: solid wall about 1 in (2.5 cm) tall.
- After Rnd 19: fan band adds about 2 in (5.1 cm).
- After Rnd 21: blue wall 3.5 in (8.9 cm) tall.
- After the rim: total height 4 in (10.2 cm).
Base too big or ruffled? Go down to a 3.75 mm hook. Too small or cupping? Go up to a 4.5 mm hook. A standard roll is about 4.5 in (11.4 cm) across, so the base must measure at least 5 in (12.7 cm) for the roll to drop in easily.

Basket (Make 3)
Use royal blue. Join each round with a sl st to the first sc and ch 1 to begin the next. The beginning ch 1 never counts as a stitch.
Base
Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR. (6)
Rnd 2: Inc in each st around. (12)
Rnd 3: Sc in next st, inc 6 times. (18)
Rnd 4: Sc in next 2 sts, inc 6 times. (24)
Rnd 5: Sc in next 3 sts, inc 6 times. (30)
Rnd 6: Sc in next 4 sts, inc 6 times. (36)
Rnd 7: Sc in next 5 sts, inc 6 times. (42)
Rnd 8: Sc in next 6 sts, inc 6 times. (48)
Rnd 9: Sc in next 7 sts, inc 6 times. (54)
Rnd 10: Sc in next 8 sts, inc 6 times. (60)
Rnd 11: Sc in next 9 sts, inc 6 times. (66)
The base circumference is now 16.5 in (41.9 cm).
Solid Wall
Rnd 12: Sc in BLO of each st around. (66) This makes a crisp ridge at the bottom edge so the wall turns upward.
Rnds 13–16: Sc in each st around. (66)
Fan Lace Band
Rnd 17: Sc in first st, ch 2, sk 2 sts, V-st in next st, ch 2, sk 2 sts, sc in next st; repeat from * around, omitting the final sc on the last repeat. Join to first sc. (11 sc, 11 V-sts)
Each repeat covers 6 sts (1 + 2 + 1 + 2), so 66 ÷ 6 = 11 repeats.
Rnd 18: Sc in first sc, ch 2, in ch-2 sp of next V-st work (tr, ch 2) 3 times and tr, ch 2, sc in next sc; repeat around, omitting the final sc on the last repeat. Join. (11 fans of 4 tr each, 11 sc)
The tr stitches spread out from a single space, which gives the radiating spoke look.
Rnd 19: Ch 4 (counts as tr) in the joining sc, ch 1, sk the side ch-2 sp, sc in each of the 3 inner ch-2 sps of the fan, ch 1, sk the side ch-2 sp, tr in next sc; repeat around, omitting the final tr. Join to top of ch-4.
Count per repeat: 1 tr + 1 ch + 3 sc + 1 ch = 6. Total: 11 tr + 33 sc + 22 ch-1 = 66 sts.
The tall tr in each valley brings the top of the round level with the fan tops.
Rnd 20: Sc in each tr, sc, and ch-1 sp around. (66)
Rnd 21: Sc in each st around. (66) Fasten off blue.
The blue wall should measure 3.5 in (8.9 cm).
Coral Picot Rim (Border)
The rim is worked on each basket separately with coral. It uses the same gauge as the basket: 4 sc per inch.
Rnd 1: Join coral in any st of Rnd 21. Sc in each st around. (66)
Rnd 2: Sc in next 2 sts, picot, sc in next st; repeat 22 times. Join and fasten off. (66 sc, 22 picots)
Why the math works: The rim starts on the basket’s own 66 sts with no extra stitches. Each picot repeat uses exactly 3 sts, and 66 ÷ 3 = 22, so the picots are evenly spaced with no leftover stitches. Because the picots sit on top of the sc and don’t add any, the rim stays 16.5 in (41.9 cm) around and doesn’t flare. The two rounds add 0.5 in (1.3 cm), bringing the basket to 4 in (10.2 cm) tall.
Hibiscus Flower (Make 3)
Use coral.
Rnd 1: 10 sc in MR. Join. (10)
Rnd 2: Sc in next st, ch 3, sk 1 st; repeat 5 times. Join to first sc. (5 sc, 5 ch-3 loops)
Rnd 3: In each ch-3 loop work (sc, hdc, 2 dc, 3 tr, 2 dc, hdc, sc). Join and fasten off, leaving a 12 in (30.5 cm) tail. (5 petals, 11 sts each, 55 sts)
The flower measures about 3 in (7.6 cm) across.
Stamen (Make 3)
Use cream. Ch 9. Sl st in 2nd ch from hook and in each of the next 7 ch. (8 sl sts) Fasten off, leaving a long tail.
Sew the stamen from the flower center outward along one petal. Using the tail, work 5 French knots clustered at its tip.
Leaves (Make 6)
Use olive green. Ch 10.
Side 1: Starting in the 2nd ch from hook, work sc, hdc, dc, dc, tr, dc, hdc, sc. (8 sts)
Tip: Work (sc, ch 2, sc) in the last ch.
Side 2: Working along the opposite side of the foundation ch, work sc, hdc, dc, tr, dc, dc, hdc, sc. (8 sts)
Sl st to the first sc and fasten off, leaving a tail. The leaf measures about 2.25 in (5.7 cm) long. If you like, surface sl st a vein down the center.
Straps
Use royal blue. All straps are 2 rows of sc, which makes them about 0.5 in (1.3 cm) wide.
Connector strap (make 4): Ch 18. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. (17) Ch 1, turn, sc across. (17) Fasten off. Length: 4.25 in (10.8 cm).
Hanger strap (make 2): Ch 29. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. (28) Ch 1, turn, sc across. (28) Fasten off. Length: 7 in (17.8 cm).

Joining
Appliqués first: On each basket, place a marker in st 1 of Rnd 21 and another in st 34. These are the strap points, 33 sts apart on opposite sides. The front center is st 17.
Below st 17, center the flower so it overlaps the solid wall and the fan band. Tuck a leaf under each side so the leaves angle down and outward. Whipstitch around the outer edges with the tails, catching only blue stitches on the wall surface.
Connector straps: Place one strap at each side, at sts 1 and 34. Overlap the upper end 0.75 in (1.9 cm) onto the solid band (Rnds 12–16) of the upper basket. Overlap the lower end 0.75 in (1.9 cm) inside the next basket, just below the coral rim.
Whipstitch each end so the strap’s 2 rows sit over 2 adjacent sts of the basket. That leaves a visible gap of 2.75 in (7.0 cm), since 4.25 − 0.75 − 0.75 = 2.75.
Hanger straps: Sew the lower end of each hanger strap 0.75 in (1.9 cm) inside the top basket at the side markers. Fold each upper end 1 in (2.5 cm) around the ring and sew it down. Then wrap blue yarn tightly around both strap ends 8 times just below the ring and secure.
Tension: Keep your whipstitches snug but not puckered. The straps carry the weight, so go over each end twice.
Size checkpoint: Three baskets make 12 in (30.5 cm), and two gaps add 5.5 in (14.0 cm). Add about 5 in (12.7 cm) for the angled hanger and 2 in (5.1 cm) for the ring, for a total of about 24.5 in (62.2 cm).
Final Blocking
- Weave in all ends securely, going back and forth through blue stitches.
- Mist each basket with water until it’s damp but not soaked.
- Slide a toilet roll, or a can about 5 in (12.7 cm) across, into each basket.
- Shape the walls so they are straight and the fans are evenly spread.
- Pinch each picot into a neat point.
- Lay the flower petals flat and curl the leaf tips slightly.
- Let it dry completely, at least 12 hours, before hanging.
Final Quality-Control Checklist
- Each base is 5.25 in (13.3 cm) across and lies flat.
- Each basket has 66 sts in Rnd 21, 11 fans, and 22 picots.
- Blue walls are 3.5 in (8.9 cm) and total height is 4 in (10.2 cm).
- Flowers and leaves are centered on st 17.
- Straps sit at sts 1 and 34, so each basket hangs level.
- Gaps between baskets are 2.75 in (7.0 cm).
- The ring wrap is tight and the ends are hidden.
Troubleshooting
- Base cups upward: Your tension is tight. Go up a hook size for the base only.
- Base ruffles: Your tension is loose. Go down a hook size, or stagger the increases.
- Fans lean or the count is off: Recount Rnd 17. It must have exactly 11 V-sts.
- Rim flares: You may have added a stitch. Rnd 1 of the rim must be 66 sc.
- Basket tilts: The strap points are not opposite each other. Re-mark sts 1 and 34.
- Walls sag with a roll inside: Add an extra sc round after Rnd 21 before the rim.
Care
Hand wash in cool water and lay flat to dry, reshaping it over a roll. Don’t tumble dry, or the cotton may shrink and the picots may lose their shape.

Final Notes
The measurements build on each other. The 16-sc gauge gives a 66-st, 5.25 in (13.3 cm) base. That base carries a 3.5 in (8.9 cm) blue wall of 11 fans. The 22-picot rim brings each basket to 4 in (10.2 cm). Three baskets with two 2.75 in (7.0 cm) gaps, the hanger, and the ring make 24.5 in (62.2 cm) in total. If you check each step, the finished organizer will hang straight.
Happy crocheting!
