The Meadow Chime wall hanging looks like a spring garden in a window. Five pearl strands hang from a rope rod. Each strand carries a mix of mustard bells, butter-yellow daisies and olive four-leaf clovers, and ends in a full mustard tassel.
There are three main colors: mustard gold, soft butter yellow and olive green. Ivory pearls and natural rope keep the look light and boho. The bells have a ridged rim and a rounded scalloped edge, and the daisies have a mustard center ring.
This pattern uses US crochet terms. The finished hanging is 16 in (40.6 cm) wide and 17 in (43.2 cm) long, measured from the top of the rod to the tips of the tassels.
You crochet every motif separately, string them on beading cord with pearls between them, and then hang each strand from a crochet tab folded over the rod.

Gauge and Checkpoints
Gauge: 22 sc and 24 rounds = 4 in (10.2 cm) in sc worked in a spiral.
Make one bell and one daisy before you start the full set, and measure them at each stage:
- Bell after Round 3: flat circle 1 in (2.5 cm) across
- Bell after Round 12: opening 2 in (5.1 cm) across, height 1.5 in (3.8 cm)
- Daisy after Round 2: 0.9 in (2.3 cm)
- Daisy after Round 3: 1.4 in (3.6 cm)
- Daisy finished: 2.5 in (6.4 cm)
- Clover leaf: 1.1 in (2.8 cm) long
If a piece comes out too big, go down to a 2.75 mm hook. If it comes out too small, go up to a 3.25 mm hook. Bells need tight fabric, so change the hook before you start changing the stitch counts.

Bell (Make 7, Mustard)
Work in a continuous spiral without joining rounds. Mark the first stitch of each round.
Round 1: 6 sc in MR. (6)
Round 2: Inc in each st. (12)
Round 3: (Sc in next st, inc) 6 times. (18)
Rounds 4–6: Sc in each st. (18)
Round 7: (Sc in next 2 sts, inc) 6 times. (24)
Rounds 8–9: Sc in each st. (24)
Round 10: (Sc in next 3 sts, inc) 6 times. (30)
Round 11: Sc in each st. (30)
Round 12: (Sc in next 4 sts, inc) 6 times. (36)
Rounds 1–3 make the small rounded top. Rounds 4–6 form the narrow neck. The increases spaced out over Rounds 7–12 create the flare. Pull the magic ring closed tightly, but leave enough room for a beading needle to pass through. Continue straight into the Border section below.
Daisy (Make 5)
Round 1 (mustard): 8 sc in MR, sl st to the first sc. (8)
Round 2: Ch 1, inc in each st, sl st to the first sc. (16) Fasten off.
Round 3 (butter yellow): Join with sl st in the BLO of any st. Ch 1, (sc in BLO of next st, 2 sc in BLO of next st) 8 times, sl st to the first sc. (24: 16 sts worked one per stitch + 8 extra)
Working in the back loops leaves the mustard front loops of Round 2 showing as a ring around the center.
Round 4 (petals): *Sl st in next st, (dc, 2 tr) in next st, (2 tr, dc) in next st; repeat from * 7 more times, then sl st in the first sl st. (8 petals: 24 sts worked one per stitch + 32 extra = 56)
Each petal uses 3 stitches, and 8 x 3 = 24, so the round closes exactly. Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Clover (Make 3, Olive Green)
Center: 8 sc in MR, sl st to the first sc. (8) Fasten off, leaving an 8 in (20.3 cm) tail.
Leaf (make 4 per clover, 12 in total):
Ch 9.
Side 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in next 3 ch, hdc in next ch, sc in next ch, 3 sc in last ch. (10)
Side 2: Rotate the leaf and work into the other side of the chain: sc in next ch, hdc in next ch, dc in next 3 ch, hdc in next ch, sc in last ch. (7)
Tip: Ch 2, sl st in the first sc of Side 1. (17 sts + one ch-2 point)
The foundation chain stays visible as the center vein. Leave a 6 in (15.2 cm) tail.
Assembly: Sew the 3-sc base of each leaf across 2 center stitches: leaves on stitches 1–2, 3–4, 5–6 and 7–8. This sets the four leaves at even right angles. Keep the center hole open so the cord can pass through.
Tab (Make 5, Mustard)
Ch 7.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Turn. (6)
Rows 2–15: Ch 1, sc in each st. Turn. (6)
The tab measures 1 in (2.5 cm) x 2.5 in (6.4 cm). Leave a 10 in (25.4 cm) tail.
Tassel (Make 5, Mustard)
Wrap the yarn 25 times around the 3 in (7.6 cm) card. Slide a 10 in (25.4 cm) strand under the wraps at the top and tie it tightly. Cut the loops at the bottom. Wrap the neck 0.5 in (1.3 cm) below the top six times, then knot. Trim the tassel to 2.75 in (7.0 cm).
Make All Pieces
- Mustard: 7 bells, 5 daisy centers, 5 tabs, 5 tassels
- Butter yellow: 5 sets of daisy petals
- Olive green: 3 centers and 12 leaves (3 clovers)
Layout grid (top to bottom):
S1 S2 S3 S4 S5
Tab Tab Tab Tab Tab Tab
Pos 1 Daisy Bell Daisy Bell Daisy
Pos 2 Clover Daisy Clover Daisy Clover
Pos 3 Bell Bell Bell Bell Bell
End Tassel Tassel Tassel Tassel Tassel
Bells: 1 + 2 + 1 + 2 + 1 = 7. Daisies: 5. Clovers: 3.
Joining (Stringing the Strands)
Here the “join” is the beading cord, which runs through the center of each motif. Thread it through the daisy and clover centers and through the closed magic ring at the top of each bell. Every item rests on the knot below it.
Strand A (S1, S3, S5), measured from the top of the tab down:
tab 1.25 in (3.2 cm), pearls 2.5 in (6.4 cm), daisy 2.5 in (6.4 cm), pearls 1.25 in (3.2 cm), clover 2.75 in (7.0 cm), pearls 1.25 in (3.2 cm), bell 2 in (5.1 cm), pearls 0.75 in (1.9 cm), tassel 2.75 in (7.0 cm).
Total: 17 in (43.2 cm).
Strand B (S2, S4):
tab 1.25 in (3.2 cm), pearls 3.25 in (8.3 cm), bell 2 in (5.1 cm), pearls 1.25 in (3.2 cm), daisy 2.5 in (6.4 cm), pearls 1.25 in (3.2 cm), bell 2 in (5.1 cm), pearls 0.75 in (1.9 cm), tassel 2.75 in (7.0 cm).
Total: 17 in (43.2 cm).
On both strands the Position 3 bell starts 11.5 in (29.2 cm) below the top of the tab, so the bottom row of bells lines up.
Method (bottom up):
1. Tie the tassel’s top strand to one end of the cord with a double knot.
2. Thread pearls onto the cord, alternating 8 mm and 4 mm, until the run reaches the listed length. Tie an overhand knot right above them.
3. Daisy or clover: slide it down until it sits on the knot, then knot right above it.
4. Bell: tie a knot 2 in (5.1 cm) above the last knot. Slide the bell down until its magic ring rests on this knot. The rim will hang level with the top of the pearl run below.
5. Repeat until you reach the top of the strand.
Snug each knot against the item below it, but don’t pull hard enough to bunch the motif. The pearl runs total 5.75 in (14.6 cm) on each Strand A and 6.5 in (16.5 cm) on each Strand B, or 30.25 in (76.8 cm) altogether.
Hanging: Fold each tab over the rod and whipstitch Row 1 to Row 15 under the rod. Tie the top of the cord through the bottom fold. Space the tabs 3 in (7.6 cm) apart, center to center, starting 2 in (5.1 cm) from each end of the rod. The outer strands are then 12 in (30.5 cm) apart, and the outer clovers span about 14.75 in (37.5 cm).
Size checkpoint: hang the rod and measure each strand. All five should be 17 in (43.2 cm) long, within 0.25 in (0.6 cm).
Border (Bell Rim)
Border gauge: each scallop is about 0.7 in (1.8 cm) wide around the 6.5 in (16.5 cm) rim.
Work these rounds straight after Round 12 of the bell.
Round 13: Sc in the BLO of each st. (36: all 36 worked one per stitch + 0 extra)
The free front loops make the raised ridge line just above the scallops.
Round 14: *Sc in next st, skip 1 st, 4 dc in next st, skip 1 st; repeat from * 8 more times, then sl st to the first sc. (9 scallops)
Count: 18 base stitches are worked into (9 sc + the first dc of each of the 9 scallops), plus 27 extra dc, for 45 stitches. The other 18 base stitches are skipped.
Why the math works: each repeat uses 4 base stitches, and 36 ÷ 4 = 9. The last skipped stitch sits right before the first sc, so the round closes with no gaps or crowding. Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Final Blocking
- Lightly mist all the motifs with water.
- Pin the daisies and clovers flat on a foam mat. Spread the petals and leaves evenly and push the clover tips to a point.
- Stuff each bell firmly with fiberfill or a rolled plastic bag so the flare and the scallops sit evenly round.
- Let everything dry completely, then remove the stuffing.
- Steam the tassels and trim them again to 2.75 in (7.0 cm).
Final Quality-Control Checklist
- Every bell is 2 in (5.1 cm) tall with 9 even scallops.
- Every daisy is 2.5 in (6.4 cm) with 8 petals.
- Every clover is 2.75 in (7.0 cm) with 4 leaves at right angles.
- All five strands are 17 in (43.2 cm) long.
- The Position 3 bells line up across the hanging.
- The knots are tight and the ends are trimmed.
- The tabs are 3 in (7.6 cm) apart.
Troubleshooting
- Bell is floppy: your fabric is too loose. Go down a hook size, or stiffen the bell with diluted fabric glue.
- Scallops are ruffled: your dc stitches are too tall. Try 4 hdc per scallop instead.
- Daisy cups upward: Round 3 is too tight. Block it flat with steam.
- Clover leaves twist: keep the chain untwisted before you start Side 1.
- Pearls slide past a knot: tie a double overhand knot, or add a dab of clear glue.
- Strand is too long: shorten the top pearl run.
Care
Dust gently, or spot clean with cool water and mild soap. Reshape the pieces and let them dry flat, away from direct heat.

Final Notes
The sizes build on each other. Gauge of 22 sc = 4 in (10.2 cm) gives a 36-stitch bell opening 2 in (5.1 cm) across. Adding the border brings the bell to 2.25 in (5.7 cm). Daisies end at 2.5 in (6.4 cm) and clovers at 2.75 in (7.0 cm). Strung with measured pearl runs, each strand comes to exactly 17 in (43.2 cm). Check each stage as you go, and the finished hanging will come out the right size.
Happy crocheting!
